[testng-dev] wrong exception msg when timeout on test

Slavomir Kocka
When I run TestNg test with time limit (and it fails because of the limit),
Instead of meaningful message I get java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0

Whole stacktrace is:

You can see it by running attached example. Run it with (JDK 1.8, Gradle 4.0):

gradle clean test

and check generated HTML...

Obviously, issue is in class MethodInvocationHelper.java:289, where there is expected exception, however there is none.

exec.getStackTraces is empty...

if (!finished) {
exec.stopNow();
ThreadTimeoutException exception = new ThreadTimeoutException("Method "
+ tm.getQualifiedName() + "()"
+ " didn't finish within the time-out " + realTimeOut);
exception.setStackTrace(exec.getStackTraces()[0]);

Can you guys fix it, as this is quite trivial bug (I guess)?

Thanks.

Re: [testng-dev] Re: wrong exception msg when timeout on test

Julien Herr
Hi,

Thanks for the report.

I reproduce the issue with 6.12 too.
Could you open an issue on GitHub?

And if you want to try to fix the issue yourself, any help is always welcome :)

Julien
