[testng-dev] Listener for data provider methods

Dmitry Baev
As far as I know there are no listener to catch data provider methods execution. There are many questions around about it such as https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/testng-users/9mGaF8wJE_4 or http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4740117/testng-listeners-intercepting-dataprovider

We are like to use such listener to catch steps and attachments (for Allure report) in data provider methods. So is there any plans to introduce such listener in feature TestNG versions?

Hi Dmitry,

Couldn't you simply log in the test methods?

Not really. In some cases there are lots of logic happens in data providers, so it would be nice to have an ability split it into some steps and make some attachments (request/response logs, database logs etc) like we did in other configuration methods (see an attached screenshot, execution -> set up)
